Ron A. Austin is on a mission to change the world for the better “one case and one client at a time.” Having won hundreds of favorable verdicts, including a landmark $1 billion judgment against global energy giant Exxon Mobil, he has established a reputation as one of the nation’s leading plaintiff trial lawyers.  Ron Austin Law, the full-service firm he established in 1995, has taken on some of the largest and most complex litigation in the history of jurisprudence.

After earning his undergraduate degree at Southeastern Louisiana University and a Juris Doctor from Southern University Law School at Baton Rouge, Ron started his career as an environmental attorney handling class action suits.

He later sharpened his skills as a prosecutor in the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office, Felony Trial Division, where he tried nearly 100 jury trials.   Today, he handles some of the largest and most complex litigations in pharmaceuticals, class actions, medical malpractice, insurance bad faith, wrongful death, mesothelioma, product liability, environmental litigation, and personal injury.  Ron routinely succeeds in securing multi-million-dollar verdicts and favorable settlements. Besides being a trailblazer in complex litigation, Ron is an entrepreneur engaged in  developing hotels, condominiums, and other large-scale domestic and international projects. 

Ron is actively involved in several local and national professional organizations, including the American and National Bar Associations and the American Association of Justice. He is a former adjunct professor at Tulane University and routinely speaks on topics such as mass torts, product liability, trial advocacy, leadership, and entrepreneurship. 

A leader in the community, committed to improving the lives of everyone, Ron sponsors youth camps and athletic teams in South Louisiana,  provides academic scholarships to deserving students, and performs pro bono work for people with developmental disabilities among other things. Ron is a lifetime member of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.
